As I stated earlier, there is no airport on Boracay Island itself so this is the best choice.

You could also fly to Kalibo Airport but this is about 1.5-2 hours from Caticlan and then you still need to take the boat transfer to Boracay Island.

How To Get From Caticlan AIRPORT To BORACAY

The easiest way to travel from the airport to Boracay is with a transfer that will take you from the airport to Caticlan jetty then by boat across to Boracay Island and then by taxi to your accommodation in Boracay. Otherwise, you can take each of these steps by yourself.

This is the easiest way to go. However, be careful when you are booking this that you book exactly what you want. The cheapest options will only take you from Caticlan Jetty to the jetty on Boracay. I recommend you book an airport transfer from Caticlan to Boracay that takes you all the way to your accommodation.

Otherwise, you can make your own way on transportation from Caticlan Airport to Boracay Island. It will just take a little longer and involve more effort. However, it is not difficult. Just take it step-by-step following the instructions below.

Note that Caticlan Airport has recently been renamed to Boracay Airport but, however you say it, it’s the same place. It is located in the tiny town of Caticlan very close to Boracay. It’s also called the Godofredo P. Ramos Airport.

Step 1: Boracay Airport To Jetty Port

The good news is that this airport is very close to the jetty where you can take the boat to Boracay. Your first step when traveling DIY Caticlan airport to Boracay is to get to the jetty.

It’s only about 500 meters from Boracay Airport to the jetty so you can walk if you want and don’t have much luggage. It only takes about 10 minutes.

Otherwise, it’s very easy to take transport by either tricycle or van. This transport will take you directly to the jetty for the ferry to Boracay Island.

Most people arriving at this airport will make this journey so everything is set up here to make it easy.

As stated before, you can buy tickets in advance to make it extra easy. They can take you all the way to Boracay.

Step 2: Ferry From Caticlan Jetty To Cagban Jetty, Boracay

From Caticlan Jetty, you can take a small bangka or boat.

Ferries usually run from about 5am to 9pm. They depart every 15 minutes or so and you shouldn’t have to wait too long.

You can buy your tickets in advance here or on arrival.

There are a few parts to the ticket price. It’s about ₱50 for the boat ticket, ₱100 for the port fee and an environmental fee which is ₱150 for locals and ₱300 for everyone else.

There is also a bigger ferry called the Boracay Express. This fare is a little higher at ₱80 for the fare plus the same port and environmental fees. These boats run every 1-2 hours 24/7.

You can also charter your own boat across to Boracay Island. This starts at ₱1,000 during the day and gets much more expensive during the night.

You’ll usually arrive at Cagban Jetty in Boracay. However, sometimes during the wet season due to heavy winds, you may arrive at Tambisaan instead. This is no big deal, and you still should take a tricycle onward as discussed in the next section.

Step 3: Cagban Jetty, Boracay To Your Accommodation

Whether you want to travel from Caticlan airport to Boracay Station 1, 2, 3 or elsewhere on the island, you’ll now need to take a tricycle to your accommodation.

This part of the fare from Caticlan airport to Boracay depends on where you are heading and usually costs ₱100-250 per ride.

If you want a more budget-friendly option, ride the multi-cab at only ₱40 per person.

While this seems like a complicated journey, each part is fairly quick so the travel time from Caticlan airport to Boracay is not big.

All up, you can expect it to take around 1.5 hours to get from the airport to your accommodation on Boracay. You may be able to do it faster or slower depending on how long you wait for a boat and exactly where you are staying on Boracay.

For example, Caticlan airport to Boracay Station 3 will take less time than traveling Boracay airport to Station 1 which is further from Cagban Jetty.

How To Get From Boracay To Caticlan Airport

The reverse journey from Boracay to airport is the same as above with three steps. You just need to reverse it.

By far the easiest way is to take an airport transfer in Boracay.
