Kalibo is one of the most convenient airports to fly into to get to Boracay, so many people travel from Kalibo to Boracay every day.

Below, I describe exactly how to travel to Boracay from Kalibo so you know what you need to do, how long the Kalibo to Boracay travel time takes and how much the fare from Kalibo to Boracay 2024 is.

Whether you are looking for a flight from Kalibo Airport to Boracay Island, a Kalibo to Boracay ferry, the cheapest Kalibo to Boracay transfer or a bus from Kalibo to Boracay, you’ll find it in this guide. I describe all options. This way, you will be in paradise as quick as possible!

The Kalibo to Boracay distance is about 57 kilometers, and the approximate travel time is around 2.5-3 hours depending on where exactly you are going on Boracay and how you choose to travel.

The easiest and best way to get from Kalibo to Boracay is with a Kalibo Boracay transfer. This includes transfers from Kalibo Airport to Caticlan, the ferry across to Boracay and a taxi to your hotel on Boracay. It is very affordable.

How To Go From Kalibo To Boracay

There are always three steps to travelling from Kalibo to Boracay.

First, you need to get from Kalibo Airport or Kalibo to Caticlan Jetty. This is an overland journey by bus, van or taxi.

From Caticlan Jetty, you can take the boat across to Cagban Jetty on Boracay Island. You then need to take an additional overland transport option to get to your hotel.

Step 1: Van From Kalibo Airport To Boracay

The easiest way to start your travel from Kalibo Airport to Boracay is to take a van from Kalibo to Boracay.

To do this, you can pre-arrange it (find options here) or when you come out of the airport, you’ll come across stalls where different tour operators offer a transfer service from Kalibo to Boracay.  

These transfers take you to Caticlan Jetty where you can take the boat across to Boracay (step 2 coming up).

Or you can click here and book your van transfer, your van transfer complete with your boat transfer or book the whole trip from Kalibo Airport to Boracay.

This is an excellent option to save stress on arrival. Also be mindful that if you book this on arrival at the airport, some of the operators may add a commission to the original price so you end up paying more.

It’s better that you book online in advance to secure your tickets to avoid this kind of situation.

The Kalibo to Caticlan van fare is about ₱463. This step of the commute from Kalibo to Boracay takes 1.5 – 2 hours.

Vans are usually timed to meet flights so you shouldn’t have to wait too long for the next one.

Alternate Step 1: Bus From Kalibo To Boracay

Alternatively, another cheap transfer from Kalibo to Boracay is to take the local bus. This option can work best if you are staying in Kalibo or arrive here from somewhere other than the airport. You could also take a tricycle from the airport into town to take this bus.

Buses leave from the Kalibo Ceres Bus Terminal in Osmeña Avenue. They depart approximately hourly and take around two hours. The Kalibo to Boracay bus fare is around ₱120.

Since Boracay is an island, you can’t take a bus to Boracay itself. You are looking for a bus to Caticlan.

Step 2: Boat From Caticlan Jetty To Boracay

Once you have caught a bus or van to Caticlan, it’s time to take a boat across to Boracay. This can be a small bangka or a bigger boat.

This can feel a little overwhelming as Caticlan Jetty can be very busy with many people taking the same journey.

The boat schedule across to Boracay is usually from 5am to 9pm.

The boat fare from Caticlan to Boracay is made up of the following:

  • ₱50 for the boat ticket
  • ₱100 for the terminal fee
  • ₱150 for locals and ₱300 for everyone else for the environmental fee. 

These are all per person fees.

You can purchase your ticket at the port or in advance. You can find ferry tickets here, but it is much better value to buy your ticket with your van transfer from Kalibo here.

Another option is to charter a private Caticlan to Boracay boat. A private Caticlan to Boracay boat fare 2024 costs ₱1,000 during the day or ₱2,000 – 2,500 during the evening. You still need to pay the terminal and environmental fees.

Boats arrive at Cagban Jetty on Boracay. They only take around 10-15 minutes. The distance is very small.

Step 3: Cagban Jetty To Your Hotel On Boracay

The final step of your journey from Kalibo to Boracay is to get from the jetty on Boracay to your accommodation.

Cagban Jetty, where you arrive, is at the southern end of the island and usually not that close to where you’ll want to stay.

From here, you can take a tricycle to your accommodation.  Depending on where you’re heading, this usually costs about  ₱100-250 per ride. If you want to take a more budget-friendly option, ride the multi-cab at only ₱40 per person. 

You could also try to arrange a transfer with your hotel.

Flight From Kalibo International Airport To Boracay?

There are currently no flights from Kalibo Airport to Boracay Island, and there is no airport on Boracay.

So when it comes to how to travel from Kalibo airport to Boracay, don’t worry. It is straightforward to take a Kalibo airport to Boracay transfer straight to the ferry at Caticlan for Boracay as described above.

Ferry From Kalibo To Boracay?

There used to be a Kalibo ferry to Boracay which was the easiest and fastest way of getting from Kalibo to Boracay. This has stopped since the pandemic started and doesn’t seem like it is returning.

However, in case it does, here’s some information about it.

The boat from Kalibo to Boracay took only 1.5 hours. The ferry was run by the Mabuhay Maritime Express. It cost more than travelling by bus and ferry via Caticlan though.

The Kalibo to Boracay ferry schedule was limited and ran just five times per week.

Travelling in the reverse direction? Want to know how to get from Boracay to Kalibo Airport? No problem.

This is the same as the above directions but in reverse. You need to get to Cagban Jetty on Boracay, take a boat across to Caticlan and then take a van or bus back to Kalibo.
